High School: Het Nieuwe Lyceum, Bilthoven - Atheneum-B graduation
High marks for drawing, first screen print and etching techniques

1974 - 1982

Pharmacy School at Groningen State University - graduation as pharmacist
Initial (figurative) oil paintings

Jan 1982 - Mar 1984

Head Quality Assurance at a pharmaceutical company (Byk Nederland BV,
Zwanenburg)
Move to Amsterdam
Extensively painting in leisure time
Start of collecting works of modern art and ethnographic art

 

Apr - Dec 1984

Full-time oil painting. Very detailed, figurative paintings, inspiration by Egyptian culture

1985

Production pharmacist at a pharmaceutical company (Pharmachemie BV, Haarlem)

Continued oil painting, including large sizes
Experiments with relief, tape on canvas, mixed techniques

Various works of JG on the walls in OvaBloc office building, and from 1994 -1996 numerous works in HC Implants office building.

Production of large-size collages, with materials like Coptic healing scrolls (parchment), old islamic handwritings, old banknotes, stamps, etc.
