Hi Jaap, it is amazing to follow your unique, very interesting website! It is a very attractive combination of showing artworks and the stories behind the artworks! It is done in a very direct language, not the vague wording as often seen on art-related websites; even art-technical secrets are revealed by you! The artworks are an interesting mix of ethnographic patterns, computer-made tilings, other typical divisions of the plane , and by using old documents (Coptic healing scrolls, Tuscan agrarian tax papers from the Mussolini-era, old Russian stock papers, old newspapers , etc.), other paper sources (even reproductive artworks of other artists), or – without these materials – only painted as such. After the experimental period up to 1990, you developed a very characteristic style, the technique by extracting the acrylic paint after being mixed with Arabic gum rendered marvelous artworks! Starting in 2014, the use of natural materials (Pinus panacea bark parts, Posidonia oceanica ‘sea balls’, rust iron pieces, and recently even skeletons of sea-urchins and various fossils, resulted in wonderful, complex artworks. Very interesting, this recent 3-dimensional development of artworks! I look forward to following your new artworks in the near future. I hope that your section photographs dealing with interesting places of this world, will also appear on this website (I noticed these are still shown on another website). I look forward to visiting the announced exhibition of your artworks in the medieval abbey San Galgano near Siena, Tuscany, in 2021, a perfect place for your artworks! Ciao Jaap!
